Apple Cider + Bitters Cocktail

One great way to boost your digestion is to use digestive bitters before or after a meal to stoke your digestive fire and ensure your system can process and assimilate nutrients optimally. This fall-inspired cocktail features bitters along with ginger, kombucha and lemon blended together to support a better belly.

Digestive bitters are herbs such as gentian and dandelion root that stimulate bitter receptors in the digestive system to produce adequate enzymes and secretions to enhance the digestive process. The result can be less bloating or gas when taken after a meal and less heartburn and indigestion when taken before.

Enjoy in a pre or post-dinner drink or simply put a few drops on your tongue.

Ingredients

Serves: 2

  • 1 cup apple cider

  • 2 oz. ginger kombucha (I love HealthAde’s ginger lemon or KeVita ginger kombucha)

  • Juice from one lemon

  • 3-4 dashes of digestive bitters (I love Urban Moonshine)

  • Lemon for garnish
